Trip Report

Kanaskat-Palmer State Park — Sunday, May. 10, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

I was a bit worried that on sunny Sunday morning the park might be crowded, but luckily I was wrong. Well sort of, the picnic area was busy, but on the trail itself (that goes around the park) we met only one family closer to the parking lots and nobody else for the rest of the hike. The park was great, and some views of the river were very nice. Around half way through, there was a little side trail that looked abandoned, but following it for five minutes led us to a beautiful boulder sticking out of the river bank with amazing views. It was so nice there we really didn't want to leave and stayed for half an hour.

It's not entirely flat and there's a bit of elevation, not much, 50-100 feet max.
