Hex Mountain — Friday, May. 15, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

What a beautiful day outside. Lots of flowers are blooming. We used the app seek to identify as many as possible.
There is no snow at all on this trail🎉

Hi. Which trailhead did you use. The one that starts near the main road or the onE that starts where you have to drive up about 5 miles to the trailhead

We started at the road. The gate to go higher is closed and it’s a very nice walk to the higher trailhead. Roundtrip total was 9 miles

Did you see the trail going down the other side? Did areas around the peak have snow

I did see the trail that looks like it makes a loop, but we didn’t take it. Looked snow free to me as well. Going to update this report with another picture. One sec

One more thing about where you started. Did you start at road 916 as in these WTA directions? or Sasse Mountain Road . Thank you.

Taking a guess, they probably took the "snowshoe route" up the Newport Creek drainage.

Why not just go out and venture around?

Thank you. I went both ways last year and this year want to do the loop. The elevation gain is only about 2500 instead of 2900 as WTA said. I will call the forest service tomorrow about the Sasse road to see if it is open. If I were brave and not a 71 year old fat woman I might go it alone but i need to convince my friends to go. It is a beautiful place despite the fire damage
