Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Thursday, May. 21, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

Great hike. First mile or so will get you warmer up - good climb. Hiked with my dog. Started in a pretty good rain that slacked off. Climbing in the wet we were pretty tanked - stopped at about 3.5 miles, never made the lake. Glad we turned back early - beat another really big system that rolled through once we got back to the car. Other hikers warned that the last stream crossing was fairly high and a little sketchy, so felt OK saving the lakes for another day. Many small creek crossings on this -be prepared for some wet feet if your boots aren't solid. One (about 2.5-3ish from trailhead, gives a straight shot view down the main creek to your right) is large enough you could conceivably lose the trail because of fallen trees obscuring it - just keep going straight across and hop the logs and you'll find it again immediately.

Snow free as far as I got.

A note on the trailhead - GPS coordinates here took me to the connector trailhead. Continue down to the concrete bridge over the river. Main trailhead is just before that - clearly marked with a sign, parking lot and bathroom.

And shoutout to the Mountains to Sound Greenway crew doing trailwork! Thanks for all your hard work!
