Lightning Peak — Sunday, May. 31, 2020

Trail up is in pretty great condition, couple of trivial trees down over it. Snow started pretty much right at the base of the chute and went up to the ridgeline. Snow was in decent shape, glissaded down. Dog and I made it car-to-car in 5 hours with lunch on the summit. Routefinding wasn't bad, stay left pretty much the entire way including in the chute and you'll get up to the ridge, lots of boot tracks to follow at the moment as well. Not sure how much longer the snow is going to last in the chute - get it while it's good if you want to avoid doing it on dirt! Beautiful day in the olympics.
