Trip Report

Lake Isabel — Sunday, Jun. 14, 2020

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
Going for a paddle on the lake.

Followed miomio143's trip report from February 1, 2019 to a T and made it to the lake without veering off course. Following the report felt a little bit like a treasure hunt! Recommend reading through that report and others that include detailed route information when planning your hike out to Lake Isabel. Lots of super helpful tips.

Arrived at the yellow gate (pictured below) around 9:00 AM. Gravel parking area was full, but we found a spot on the road. The trail was straightforward until about the last mile where it became very muddy, steep, slippery. The lake itself was very nice and much larger than we expected. We slid a few times on the way down, so make sure to watch your footing and take it slow. Expect to get reeeal dirty on this one!

The yellow gate described in several trip reports that marks the trailhead where you can park (just don't block the gate itself).
We found the two canoes located to the left (northwest I think) of a log jam that's visible once you reach the lake shore. We took one out for a bit and got maybe halfway down the lake. We spoke to another couple who took the second canoe out and it wasn't as seaworthy. They said they started taking on water and turned back.
Pretty waterfall visible along the last quarter mile up to the lake.
