Trip Report

Lake Ann — Saturday, Jun. 20, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway

Saw there was no current report for this and just returned back from a weekend where I could have benefited from a report. Road was great getting into the trail head, we camped down by Beverly Creek.

Saturday was pretty socked in and there was intermittent rain and mist most of the day. The first three miles are really quite tame due to the great switchbacks and overall elevation getting out of the basin.

Since it is still middle June, we should have been more aware of the amount of snow that would be present. Lost our trail at the top of the rise, just before the final ascent to the peak. After some traversing through the snowpack and using the Alltrails map, we were able to get back on point and make the final push to the top. This was pretty much all snowpack and since it is melting actively, pretty wet and easy to push through the snowfields-watch those ankles.

Ascending into the bowl and the lake was really not an option at this time, since there was so much fog, mist and snowpack. Could have used some spikes, and poles were a must.

5 hours total time, will come back in August so we can get the full experience, and hopefully see some of the peaks surrounding this otherwise awesome spot in our beautiful backyard.
