Road was rough but passable, mostly just bumpy rocks. The beginning of the trail is in good condition. After the first stream crossing, on the flatter portions of the trail, the trail gets a bit mucky and in a few areas the trail is under a stream of water. Nothing a little bit of bush whacking and rock hopping won't fix!
Within the last mile or so to the lake there are patches of snow but easy enough to manage, but be aware the snow is soft and easily makes holes if you step in the wrong place. I hiked to the ridge in hopes of making it to Lost lake, but the snow is solid, slippery, and about up to 3ft deep.
Mosquitoes were an annoyance at the trailhead when I started at 630 and lightened up until the first creek then they came back with vengeance. By the time I reached the lake I had inhaled 5 and had well over 50 bites with spray. Mosquito head net thing recommended.
Stay safe and happy hiking!
