Trip Report

Teanaway Butte — Wednesday, Jun. 24, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Trail up

The road out to the trailhead and Indian Camp Campground (Middle Teanaway Road) seems to have been improved lately - its gravel/dirt but super smooth (for now).

The trailhead can be reached on the right (technically Teanaway Butte Road) which is a large dirt road before the campground. It also looks like the spot of an expansion of the Indian Camp campgrounds.

We trekked up to the butte on a 90 degree day and glad we brought tons of water, pre-suncreened, big hats and sun glasses. You are mostly out on the open all the way up due to the fire damage. The wildflowers were still in bloom and its mostly green around the burnt trees. The trail/road is in great shape and only gets skinny as you trek through the final saddle to the summit.

There were about 5-6 trees down across the trail, but each were passable on the sides (although you need to be careful of snags and the charcoal from the burnt trees).

Views were amazing and well worth going all the way to the top. The only tricky navigation is the split with Rye Creek Road, just stay to the LEFT (uphill) - EckartS captured the very small sign on a high tree in his review.
