My two pups and I arrived on a Wednesday at about 6am (we were the only ones there in the parking lot Waze took us to). We started walking and I began to realize the trail description didn't match anything I was seeing. It took me about an hour (embarrassed to say- lack of coffee, obviously) to realized I had parked in the North Parking Lot and was doing the trail backwards. So I started out in some DEEP, DEEP mud and a whole bunch of spider webs. I had one hiking pole, but definitely wish I had the other one with the amount of mud. We didn't see another soul our entire time until we reached the car and there was a mother and son heading into the trail (about 9am, we moved slow with many detours to dip our toes in the river). There were only two down trees on the trail that were easy to hop over, so, so much mud, it was pretty overgrown in areas (just gotta power through the foliage), and many spider webs. :)
It was more of an easy walk in some dense forest (my first one with two dogs, so it was the perfect test trail for how well I can manage the two mutts).
