We arrived at the trailhead around 7:20. I didn't feel like the road up was too bad. There were a few potholes, but easy to avoid. There were 3 cars in the lot. It was a rainy, cold summer day. This a typical, stretch your legs hike. Easy for all levels of experience. Looks like a lot of work is being done on the trail. Talapus was not as accessible as Olallie. Both are beautiful, Olallie was my favorite. We hung out at the lake for awhile. We got back to the trailhead around 10:40. The parking lot was full and starting to overflow. Great way to start the day.
