Pros: amazing views for the distance
Cons: the mosquitoes were horrible
This trail gives amazing views considering how short it is. The road up has several big potholes and is pretty narrow--use caution around those bends with a steep drop off on one side.
The trail itself is fairly steep (1,500 feet gain in about 1.5 miles) but mostly very easy to follow. A couple spots have trees down. The first part is wooded and partly shady, then it opens up into a spot that was burned out, then back into woods. The "summit" isn't really clear--we hiked until we got a view of Lake Wenatchee over the ridge and intersected with Nason Ridge trail. There was snow for the last 15 minutes or so.
The mosquitoes were truly miserable. We didn't stop for water or snack the whole time, both had long pants, and still ended up with about 25 bites each on our arms and necks (and 2 on my forehead). Might be better after the snow has melted later in summer.
