We planned an easy day hike but this is not what we expected. The trail is steep in and out the first 1/2 mile and there a a lot of fallen trees over the trail as well as a severe washout. Quite a bit of mud and the bugs are voracious if you stop for any length of time. The views of the river are nice but the trail is closed before you can get to the tunnels so don't expect to see them. The last part of the trail is interesting with the old rail bed blasted out of the side of the hill but very narrow.
