The Gold Creek Trail is a great option on the Kitsap Peninsula that offers views of the Olympic and Cascade ranges, including Mount Rainier.
The trail starts at the north end of the parking lot. Follow this flat path for half a mile along Gold Creek and take a left at the trail crossing, continuing up the Gold Creek Trail. About 1.5 miles from the trailhead, arrive at an expansive view of the Olympic Mountains and Hood Canal.
Continue up through the logged area until the Vista Trail is reached. Follow this to the summit. At the top, enjoy views of the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound.
Toilets are open at the trailhead. Another toilet is open about a quarter mile from the summit.
⚠️This trail is on DNR land and is shared with bikes, horses, dirt bikes, and quads. Practice correct yielding when needed.
🥾There are a number of trails that allow for creating loop hikes and one-way options.
🗑Follow leave no trace principles and pack out all trash.
💩Dogs are allowed on this trail. Clean-up after your dog and do not leave the bag on the side of the trail to pick-up later.
