Sunrise Ridge Trail (Mount Angeles Saddle)

•5.4 miles round trip
•1300’ elevation gain
•Paved road; suitable for all vehicles
•America the Beautiful or Olympic National Park Pass

If you’re into ridge hiking with fields of wildflowers exploding in alpine meadows, then grab your pack for this hike because now is the time to go! Be ready to gain and lose some elevation throughout this hike. Enjoy the downhills when they come but don’t forget you have to come back up when you return.

The Sunrise Ridge Trail starts on the north side of the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center parking lot. Take the High Ridge Loop Trail towards Sunrise Point to connect with the Sunrise Ridge Trail. The majority of this hike is exposed and there are no water sources. The trail is in excellent condition and narrow in some places.

Just over 2 miles in stay to the right at the fork to finish out the trail as it connects to the Klahhane Ridge Trail. If you have 2 vehicles in your party, you can include the Switchback Trail for a one-way hike option.

The views are best hiking back to the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center. Don’t forget water and sunscreen as this trail doesn’t offer much relief from the elements on a warm day.

Rangers are on site to assist and parts of the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center are open, but remember a face covering. Toilets are open and water is available.

🎥Check the weather and take a peek at the Hurricane Ridge Webcam to make sure the mountains are out.

🚙Construction is occurring at the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center and the parking lot is reduced by ~40%. Check national park website for updates.

🦌Don’t feed or disturb wildlife.

🌼Help preserve the fragile meadows by keeping off

Happy Trails!
