Beautiful day for the hike! We arrived at Blue Lake at 8:30am and the parking lot was already full. It sounded like some of the cars had camped there over night and weren't necessarily hiking Blue Lake. The privy at the beginning of the trail was in good condition (but be sure to bring toilet paper). Also, be sure to bring bug spray. The trail was pretty buggy. There were some muddy areas and one small patch of snow. All of these areas were easy to pass.
As for the crowd, it was pretty busy, especially on our way down after 11am. Masks and social distancing was unfortunately pretty mixed.
Overall, this hike provides a nice variety of scenery, and there's currently some very pretty wildflowers! The actual Blue Lake was also very striking and beautiful.
