Chain Lakes Loop — Wednesday, Jul. 29, 2020

Superb day out on the Chain Lakes loop.  Road is closed at Austin Pass warming hut/visitor center.  I took off from Heather Meadows parking lot for 7 mile run/hike.  Sun was high and hot, but plenty of water running everywhere to stay hydrated.  Went in counter-clockwise fashion going up Herman Saddle first.  Snow patches here and there but easy to navigate.  Able to get by in my sneaks but did bring the poles as well.  The views were glorious and got to cool down with a head dunk in one of the lakes.  Artist point lot is still snowed in but able to find the trail down back down after poking around a bit.  Get out there!
