This is a super little trail especially when you only have time for a quick outing on a hot day. Just four or five other groups on the wide gravel trail today. In some places the trail is a bit overgrown so you will still need to keep masks handy, looking at you dog walkers. Always something new to look at when you hike and today it was frogs, hundreds of tiny frogs hopping across the trail near the first two culverts on the road side of the lake trail. I had to walk very slowly to make sure there were no casualties.
Although the trail has plenty of shade it was still pretty warm which makes taking the spur trail down to the river a nice option if you have time to stop to dip your toes. A quiet older couple were installed on the bank there reading, so I left them to their solitude. Less than an hour round trip then it was back off home for chores.
Restrooms open and stocked.
