We got to the trail around 4pm, and had the parking lot and trail to ourselves. Be sure to check out the awesome wood art as you pass the residence just before the yurt parking area.
This was a quick, easy hike down to see the big tree. Even though it's pretty forested, it was still a hot and muggy trek. The creek is definitely low this time of year. Come back in November for more flows and the salmon runs!
Didn't notice the bugs while we were moving, but we sat on the bench by big tree for a while and the mosquitoes were hungry!
We passed by some impressively tall devil's club, and spotted a fairy house on the way back up that is hidden from sight on the descent.
