This is a stunning hike! There's currently tons of wildflowers in bloom, small creeks and mini waterfalls, and lots of different types of birds and chipmunks. We arrived by 6:45am and got the last parking spot in the small lot. We did the hike counter clockwise, which we do not recommend. While still beautiful, it seemed like the views would have been even more striking to approach from the clockwise direction. Additionally, there was lots of mist hiking that early which impeded views for the first half of the hike (but the mist has its' own beauty).
The trail is pretty narrow, so social distancing was challenging. Unfortunately there were a lot of people not wearing masks. There were also a number of people who went off trail (particularly at a beautiful small lake during the hike) and also brought their dogs (there are many signs that say no pets; WTA also says this). Despite this trail having high usage, we saw zero trash, which was great.
