Route to Revolution Peak

As many others have said before, Revolution Peak is a gem! It's been on my radar from seeing it from other nearby peaks and I was super psyched to do it today. We clocked in 14.72 miles with 4970' gain, 3:45 on the way up and 3:30 on the way down.

I've attached my tracks for a visual, but we just followed the directions in other trip reports. "Bushwacking" from the Thompson Lakes fork was straight forward (it's practically a trail) which then turns into logging roads. We also encountered no one else on this path from the fork during the entire day. Once at Thompson point, continue up past the fire pit to follow the ridge. On the way up, we followed existing boot paths and even came across pink flagging tape, and the combination of these provided a good route to the top. At the final talus field before the top, we came up the SE side to get to the top of the peak. Other reports say to stick to the SE side of the ridge overall, so we tried that on the way back but got into some dangerous terrain. My advice: stay as close to the ridge as possible, and it's okay to venture on the NW side if it looks safer!

As expected, the views were incredible and we got lots of ideas for future hikes by looking at all of the nearby and far away peaks. Additionally, don't forget bug spray, and check out the little summit register at the top!
