Good day to stretch the old legs on this flat and wide (in most places) path through the estuary. Wanted to squeeze in another visit before September 1 and hunting season. Only a few cars in the main lot and crossed paths with only a handful of people along the way.
The common snipe and dunlins were busy feeding as high tide was slowly returning. Found killdeer, herons, goldfinch, and swallows galore. Lots of wild blackberries and various wildflowers are still gracing the landscape.
Took the path heading due west at the Y junction for a change and discovered a lovely bench at the end. The trail turns to grass in this area, but nothing too hard to traverse. Good solid footing and next to no elevation changes all the way out and back.
