The Moss Lake trails are particularly nice at this time of the year because they are not too muddy! The berries are mostly past but there are still thimbleberries here and there.
In addition to the main loop (that is closer to 4 miles than 2.5 miles?), there are signs pointing to a side trail (Orange Arrow). (see trail map: https://aqua.kingcounty.gov/gis/web/VMC/recreation/BCT_MossLake_brochure.pdf).
Shortly after embarking on this Orange Arrow trail one comes across a sign (see photo) rather aggressively notifying users that a permit (which costs $$ and you need to have purchased in advance) is needed to go on the Campbell Global property. We opted to stay on the Moss Lake property trail. The Campbell Global property looks like it is a multi-use land area, for hunting, wood, and motorized and non-motorized vehicles, and likely not a good area for hikers to be wandering about in.
