Gold Basin Mill Pond Interpretive Trail — Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Okay, so it wasn't a dog we hiked (more like meandered) the trail with but rather our cat. After hiking Lake 22, we went back to the cabin and grabbed the cat to take him on a walk. This very short trail was paved while on land and boardwalk while over water. It's missing hand rails in a few places where trees and rot have gotten the better of it. One of the boards has also partially rotted through. it looks like there used to be a lot more interpretative signs, too. I was thinking it would actually be a good Eagle Scout project to come restore the trail to it's former glory. But the fact that it was short and we had it to ourselves was perfect for taking our cat out for a walk.

LOVE that you took your cat on a hike! Very helpful to know that this trail is a good option for my adventurous cat photo sessions.
