Tieton River Nature Trail — Friday, Aug. 28, 2020

Central Washington > Yakima
Tieton River

The Tieton River Nature Trail was a really nice, easy hike.

We started at the east entrance, across the street from the Oak Creek Wildlife Area. There was parking on the side of the river which was better than at Oak Creek, because the highway is rather busy and not so much fun to cross. While the main restroom was closed when we were there, there were some pit toilets available.

We hiked to the suspension bridge and back. The trail was sometimes right next to the river and sometimes a short distance away. The views were beautiful. The hike was nearly flat and quite easy. On a Friday in August, we encountered very few hikers.
