La Rush/Bear Lakes — Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020

I drove past Sibley Creek Road on the way here, there were cars parked at the bottom and someone backing up to let another car down, what a mess!  Just a few miles further up the road is this less visited spot.

Cascade River Road, at pavement end go R, take this up, up, up to trail start at roadside campsite on L.  Much of this road is good, but a few bad spots may require high clearance.  There are many view camps along this scenic stretch of road traveled by few, Hidden Lake Lookout and many North Cascades peaks are visible across the valley.

Short trail to La Rush Lake in good shape, as is longer trail to Bear Lake.  Good camps at both lakes, La Rush is nicer.  I looked beyond Bear for trail continuation shown on old maps, found 500 feet then lost in blueberry bushes.  There were cut logs at the end so I know it's there, I will return.
