Set off from Seattle around noon to find some sunshine in the mountains, and Silver Peak didn't disappoint. I tracked it at 6.3 miles from trailhead to summit, and noted that trailhead coordinates listed on WTA are incorrect — much closer to the Cold Creek Trailhead — though the written instructions are correct. I've submitted a revision. The road is nicely graded until just before the PCT intersection, it devolves into a rocky mess. Parking wasn't an issue, though it can get a bit tight. The trail is in generally good condition, with some muddy and root-filled spots, especially at the rather haphazardly marked turn off from the PCT, so watch your step. I was pleased to see about 95% of hikers respectfully wearing some kind of face-covering while passing others. The views from the top were stunning with the clouds swirling down below, and I was shocked to find I had the summit to myself. Poles were definitely useful on the way down.
