Lost Creek Ridge — Friday, Oct. 2, 2020

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Lovely two nights on Lost Creek Ridge, camped about 3/4 mile from turnoff to Sunup Lake, which wasn't our plan. Ended up there because we initially didn't find Sunup. Found it two days later when we took the turnoff and stayed left at the various forks and continued ascending, rather steeply, up to the lovely lake and its several camping spots.

There are quite a few decent camp spots along the ridge, most with water within a few hundred feet or so. Also good camps at Hardtack and Camp Lakes, as well as the ridge above Camp Lake, though we didn't see a nearby water source (besides Camp Lake).

Trail could use a bit of love. At least a dozen trees smaller than a foot in diameter, as well as another dozen-plus tree bigger than a foot diameter could be removed or sawed to create gaps. You could get over/around all of them but it would be nicer/easier if they were not there.
