Early WED 21oct morning, after i "break-camp" at Early Winters (Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest), the weather forecast for the morning showed light-snow, and light rain in the North Cascades area. And to avoid the (higher elevation) North Cascades trails that were reported as having "feet deep" snow cover, i searched and found the "Lewis Butte Loop Trail" that is located near Winthrop WA .. which turned out to be a hidden gem of the North Cascades ..
Lewis Butte Loop is ~5.1 mile long, gradual, mellow, non-technical hike, and well-signed hike leading to Lewis Butte "summit". Each and every step of the way having beautiful 360degrees views of the surrounding mountains and the Methow Valley (despite the chilly morning)!!
And as i was leaving, ~1 mile from the Trailhead, i encounterd 1 hiker who was coming in. Further along, i encountered a group of hunters (2 men and 2 boys) .. 😅 Anyway, its my mistake for not noticing that i was in the WA Dept of Fish & Wildlife 'Rendezvous Wildlife Area' (which probably permits sporting activities such as hunting).
Thank y'all - WDFW, Methow Trails and USFS for the beautiful Methow Valley.
