We did the whole loop around Oxbow Lake to collect water for an Adventure Scientists project. Previously, we'd taken the short side of the loop down to the river.
This is a great trail. The tread is perfectly maintained and the views of the lake and trees are great. There are some stupendously large Sitka Spruce down by the water that almost make you want to bushwhack down to them.
The river is much higher than our previous visit to collect samples. Several days of heavy rains really clouded the water. We got our water samples and finished the loop.
Highly recommend this trail for families.
