We had gorgeous views of Mt. Rainer as we ate our lunch atop Mt. Washington. A spectacular day.
The trail is a tough one with rocks everywhere. There is ice on the trail making for treacherous conditions almost the whole way up (ice on the upper reaches of the trail in the morning, but even more ice doing down in the lower reaches with icy water making rocks slippery). Strongly recommend hiking poles. Though we did see a guy in shorts running down the trail (it was about 40 degrees!).
Most hikers wore masks, but about 25% did not.
Someone on the trail managed to take a dump and not bury their used toilet paper. Please folks, take care of your waste better.
