Trip Report

Mount Dickerman — Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Looking toward Glacier Peak

The 360 views from the top of Mt. Dickerman are absolutely worth the grind up! Glacier Peak looms dramatically at the top, and Mt Baker and Mt Rainier were visible today too! The North Cascades were, as always, impressive.

Arrived at the trailhead at 8:45AM to a full parking lot, and when leaving around 3PM, there were cars lined up along the street. The trailhead is shared with Perry Creek but it seemed that most people were going to Dickerman -- it was very busy, and felt it at the top. Small hardened snow patches on the trail periodically toward the top today, but they were short and doable without traction for us and for the majority of people. Poles could be helpful. Lots of running water/standing water on the trail. The trail through the forest starts getting dark early, and when we were going through this around 2-3pm today, it was already starting to get dark. Just be aware of this.
