We got to the trailhead around 10 am with the parking lot nearly full. Took advantage of the good weekend day for a chance at some mountain views.
The trail is easy to follow. There is one downed tree which is easily passable. At this time of year the trail was quite muddy in places, especially near the beginning where several creeks cross. The mud isn't too deep, and is passable, but make sure you have waterproof/resistant shoes.
Just about everyone on the trail was masked. People took turns going up the lookout to make space for social distancing. Plenty of space at the top to spread out and enjoy the views/wait for your turn to go up the lookout.
The views of Mt. Index and Baring were spectacular, with the first snowfalls dusting all of the trees. Highly worth it on any clear day for the beautiful views.
Overall, easy trail, regular elevation gain, just about anyone can do it, but if you go after rain be prepared for mud!
