A beautifully engineered trail with many good outlooks even before the main balcony. Be very aware that this is a super popular trail. On this minor holiday weekday, the lot held 10 cars at 9AM when I set out, and I encountered just a couple hikers on the way up. But on the way down, I passed many, many parties, one with at least 20 or so young people, maybe a college group. More than 50 cars in the lot at noon. I'm no misanthrope, but the constant raising/lowering mask, fogged glasses, step-off-the-trail do-sa-do gets tiring. So, I advise going on a weekday and early morning at that. Thin covering of snow towards the top, no problem for light boots. That will change with the storm's arrival this Friday.
