You would think, given the number of reports that I've done for this place, that there has got to be something out there worth the trip. Uh ... nope, not really. Just a maze of logging roads and clearcuts and scraggly young firs. But also a heck of a lot of solitude - I didn't see anyone all day.
However, if you dare to explore a bit, there is some cool stuff out there...

I found the cabin a couple years ago in an area tagged for logging, so I wanted to see if it was still there. (had a couple pics in a report but I took them down) Posting pics this time to show what an ol'timey cabin might look like. Hand made with all natural materials, and bone dry inside. (a branch came through the roof, so the tarp is a temporary fix.) Nice dug-out bench in front with a firepit. Don't ask where it is 'cause I don't know; and I could never find it again. ;)

Which road did you come in from? I always enter off of Stossel in Duvall.

It's a great area if you want to walk for miles in solitude; albeit on boring gravel roads. You've got to dive into the woods to find the good stuff.

BTW, Happy Thanksgiving! Crazy year, but still a lot to be thankful for. (and FWIW, a white buffalo was born this year)
