Larrabee State Park - Chuckanut Falls — Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area

If you're looking for a gorgeous drive and amazing trail/falls, you deserve to add Chuckanut to your list SOON. You certainly must pay attention once on Chuckanut drive, the road is narrow and seems moreso due to the many cars parked on the shoulder (be careful doing so as we had to wait on the way back for two cars over the white line being towed out.

Arrived around 10:30am, ample parking.

The trail is the perfect workout without having you questioning life. Amazing for hikers, of all ages, trail runners and mountain bikers. I saw that a portion of the trail is open to horses and did see tracks but that was all. Plenty of passing room (be aware of bikers and runners that may come up on you quick.)

There are various rights and lefts. I followed the pro tip and it was perfect. The falls are stunning, but even the trees were gorgeous, magical. I was waiting for Alice to pop out.
