Beautiful destination but extremely wet and slippery on the way up! Arrived around 10am and had no trouble finding a spot in the parking lot. It was moderately busy and about 60% of hikers were wearing masks. The trail is pretty rocky and at times treacherous- there are several slippery and overflowing streams to cross along the way (poles would have been helpful!), and at many points water was flowing heavily directly down the trail. Up closer to the lake, you pass through a boulder field covered in a slick layer of ice and slush. We brought spikes but never put them on because we figured it would make traversing the rocks more difficult. Quite a bit of snow up near the top, and the lake is covered in a thin sheet of blue ice. Just gorgeous! However, I definitely do not advise this one with small kids right now, or without sturdy/waterproof boots.
