My best hiking buddy and I needed only microspikes for the entire trip to and from Huntoon Point on a bluebird day.
We started up the snowshoe trail at 7:15AM. There were only a few hikers ahead of us. But we met literally hundreds of people coming up while we descended. Cars were backed up from the upper ski area loop all the way to the junction before Picture Lake because there was no parking available.
As we drove down the mountain, there was a steady stream of cars heading for Baker. I'm certain they will be frustrated by the backup at the upper ski area, but they need to leave home earlier than 11AM.
We met a couple from Seattle who were enjoying a picnic on the ridge. They are also the couple backed by Mt. Baker in the photos.
It was a perfect day for photography.

Aw I guess it wasn’t us in the photo, but nonetheless it was so great to meet you! Hope to run into you on the trail again sometime!
