Alta Lake S.P. camping & hiking

WED 17Jun2020 late afternoon, Swee and i arrived at Alta Lake State Park and got us a campsite at its Camp Loop #3. Camp Loop #2 was full. It's good to camp at Camp Loop #3 cos we have lovely mountain views and the valley .. and we kept away from the crowd :) We were 1 of the lucky 6 parties at Camp Loop #3.

During the check-in the Park Ranger told us of the hikes at Lake Alta S.P. After we had our dinner, we went for a walk around Lake Alta and also to the Trailhead. And cos it was getting dark, we decided to do the hike the next morning.

THU 18Jun2020  ~06:00, from my campsite at Camp Loop #3, i walked on the Service Road to the Trailhead, and then out to the "top". At first glance, the Alta Lake State Park Trail seemed "deceivingly" easy cos its a short 1 mile R/T. However, it was a little too "challenging" for me .. rocky, gravel, sand (?), occasionally lossy, steep incline, narrow ledge, a little too "exposed" .. i had to keep reminding myself to keep steady, traverse cautiously. "Reward" at the top: beautiful views of the Lake Alta and the surrounding mountains and valley; and lovely solitude for ~1+ hrs when i had the Trail all to myself :) Its only after i got back to the Trailhead that i encountered 2 hikers coming up.

Btw, the Trail is reasonably well-maintained and in good condition ..same goes for the campsites  and Alta Lake State Park facilities too .. thank y'all Alta Lake State Park! :)
