Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area

We got to the trailhead around 9:30 and the parking lot was already full. We lucked out and got a spot when someone was leaving, but people were already parking on the side of the road which made leaving a little tricky.

When we got to the fork with Max's Shortcut we took that route, which actually worked out pretty well as we only saw about one or two other groups the whole way up. There was maybe one tree down but it wasn't too hard to get back on the trail.

When we got to the outlook there were quite a few groups but everyone was being socially distant conscious. The way down was way busier as this seemed to be the direction most people had started, and so we had our masks on pretty much the entire way down the trail. There were also many more trees down this side, and at times it was hard to see which way got us back onto the trail, but because it was so busy, we just followed the way of others.

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful hike, just best to go early to avoid crowds.
