Columbia Plateau Trail - Snake River — Friday, Jan. 1, 2021

Central Washington > Tri-Cities

Day hike on the Columbia Plateau Trail north from Snake River Junction Trailhead. Amazingly, we were the only hikers on the trail on a beautiful New Year's Day. Beautiful views while walking an old railroad grade along the Snake River. Saw deer, lots of birds, and lots of barges. Shortly after leaving the parking area, there are two different grades that you can follow. The lower grade makes for much easier walking, although you get to see more remnants of the old rail line by following the upper, rockier grade.
