Arrival at 10:00 on a weekday gave us plenty of spots to park, although it was filling up shortly thereafter. Portable toilets at head of trail were acceptable but marginal in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Also out of hand sanitizer. Despite fairly full parking lot, did not run into a lot of people on the trails. Several dogs, a few kids, with owners and parents. There are so many trail options here that we spent most of the day, and could have spent longer. Lots of opportunities to view and sit next to Coal Creek and its waterfalls. Lots of licorice ferns and some unusual mushrooms and fungi (see “blue ice” fungi in photo beloe). Plenty of hills, which made sense because of the deep ravine, also plenty of mud. Definitely want hiking poles! Overall, a great hike very near to Factoria.
