Arrived at trailhead at 9:30 am. We were the first ones there. It had snowed about 4-6 inches overnight. We strapped on our snowshoes and started up the road. Fresh powder the whole way up! Our poles poked through to the concrete but our snow shoes were fine. We hiked up for two hours stopping periodically for short breaks. Reached one viewpoint that was stunning but slightly foggy. We decided to turn around after two hours thinking we probably had about half a mile or so to go before we would've reached the viewpoint. Took us one hour to get back down. As we were leaving we saw one other person starting his journey up in xc skies.
