Lake Aldwell Overlook Trail — Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021

Heading west from Port Angeles on Highway 101, turn right onto Highway 112, go about a half-mile, then turn left at the first crossroads into the parking lot outside the Elwha Dam RV park.   Hike a short path to a couple of limited view overlooks or walk the gravel road leading down into the canyon to the former site of the Elwha Dam and Lake Aldwell.  At the end of the gravel road you have a great overlook of the river.  Scrambled down to a better viewpoint near the river with a trekking pole assist.  A 1 mile roundtrip from parking lot to Dam site and back.
