Middle Fork road was clear. Parked in the main lot near the Garfield Ledges TH. The trail is covered with snow starting from the bridge across Taylor River. Micro-spikes and poles were both useful. The trail was well-trodden and manageable until the Marten Creek bridge. After that the trail is more dicey and I often post-holed. Snowshoes would be useful, with the tradeoff that creek crossings would be cumbersome.
The sign to Otter Falls is easy to miss. There was no obvious trail to the falls until the drop down into Lipsy Lake basin. Otter Falls is a trickle, typical for this time of year, but still beautiful. Unlike in summer there's a good chance you'll have it all to yourself.
