CCC Road: Lower Section — Monday, Mar. 29, 2021

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

To get to this hike follow the driving directions for the Middle Fork Snoqualmie hike and park in the same lot. Don't forget to hang your Discover Pass. The Trailhead is across the road from the entrance to the parking lot, not over the bridge. At one point the road is gravel with some pot holes. We had no problem in a sedan.

This is a fun relatively flat trail that shows off the beauty of the forest. The start of the trail runs along the backside of the camp grounds. Many many ferns and moss, stumps of gigantic trees, streams, and other interesting things to look for.  We turned around at the wide stream. It looked like it could have been crossed but my hiking partner wanted to head back.

There was some snow on the trail and mud in a few places. We had to climb over trees that are blocking the trail. They are all in one location and it was fairly easy.

I know it is a bit confusing, but the trail you are describing starting from that end is actually the CCC "Upper Trailhead" which is on National Forest Land and is not the CCC "Lower Trailhead". If parking at the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River parking lot a NW Forest Pass is required, not the Discover Pass. The Lower Trailhead starts further west and has much more limited parking and does require the Discover Pass.
