Bad potholes started past the pavement, and snow just before the park. I made it a tenth mile past the park boundary sign with my sedan. 4wd cars got another couple hundred yards.
I originally intended to hike to Mowich Lake, but ran short of time. So I hiked about a half mile on the snowy road, then onto the Paul Peak trail, only to Meadow Creek and back. There was 2-3 feet on the road and a foot in the woods. I didn't put on my snowshoes, but would occasionally sink to mid calf.
Only two other parties on this partly sunny day.
The (undamaged) roof of the kiosk lay on the ground next to it. Maybe the park takes it off for the winter due to snow load? The restrooms are open.
A couple big elk spotted on the road on the drive back.
