Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

A fun, quirky PNW adventure! Getting there is easy, just follow McNeil street down to the round-a-bout area, and park anywhere on the side of the street that's available. There looks to be multiple entrances to the main connecting trail, that's adjacent to the golf course property, so you don't necessarily have to go into a residential neighborhood just to get to the "trailhead", as there is an entrance at the park near by. Overall, this hike is easy and straightforward with the crux being the steep roped section, but good footwork and utilizing the rope for support, makes for an easy ascent/descent. You do have to cross 2 active railroad tracks, so be cautious if you are a slow mover or have kids/pets. I went for an evening sunset hike, at low tide, and I'm glad I did; not many people out during the week, so if you're searching for peace and quiet by the water, this is the place for you! The ship is awesome, with entrances inside and on top, and on the rare occasion, you may see seals sunbathing at high tide. All in all, id recommend this hike to anyone whos interested!
