25May2021 ~10:00, cloudy and ~high 50s_F, Swee and i arrived at Twanoh S.P. for a visit.
High Tide: 03:45 (12.85 Ft) & 17:45 (12.03 Ft)
and Low Tide: 10:50 (-2.46 Ft) & 23:08 (6.35 Ft)
We noticed ~3 vehicles at the Boat Launch parking. And the ~6 people out on the beach .. they were "Oyster-shelliing" 👍
Swee and i went to hike (CW ) the (Alltrails named:) Twanoh Trail (estimated 2 mile). The Trail is in good condition, and well-maintained; first ~1 mile is mostly dirt, and the second mile is a mix of dirt, and (old Service Road?) gravelled road. Coincidentally, my Alltrails and Gaia mapping "died" after we went ~0.8 mile out/up on the Trail. Later, i tried using the Caltopo, but it got "confused". My guess is that these 3 Apps "failed" cos there's no or weak GPS signal? Anyway, fortunately, i had kinda memorized this "straight-forward" Trail .. its just a simple "Loop" .. and so we completed the hike successfully.
The only people that we encountered during our 1+ hour on the Trail was a woman and her child near the "Outhouse". We heard some birds singing, but saw no wild animals. Saw some (probably) Rhododendrons .. and "common" Daisies 😀
The Twanoh S.P., including the bathrooms are clean.. many thanks to their Maintenance Crew!
Although the Twanoh S.P. is relatively small in size; the Forest is just as lovely ..lots of greens .. Also, there are available many other activities and features >> https://parks.state.wa.us/294/Twanoh
It was very nice to see people out and about, "making" and having fun!
Happy Trails Everyone!
