After a bumpy ride on forest road 23 my sedan was stopped by snow 0.7 air miles from the lake, my destination. I proceeded on foot on 23, then left on 2329 for a few hundred yards, then shortcutting through the snowy woods (no trail that I know of) to the campground and lake.
About 2 feet of snow with bare spots. I had the lake to myself this Tuesday. There were elk prints, as well as huge-tired jeep treads from previous days. I didn't bring snowshoes, which probably wouldn't have helped, as I only occasionally sank to my ankles.
In the last (satellite) photo fr 23 is the lower of 2 roads diagonally running from upper left to middle (fr 2329 is above it). I parked on 23 where it turns from brown to white.
