Trip Report

Deception Creek — Wednesday, May. 26, 2021

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

This is a report of a day with the trail crew. The road from the railroad trellis to the upper parking lot is very washed out and only high 4x4s made it in. Luckily it is only about 200 feet from parking at the trellis to the trail head but that road needs some serious work. We worked on the trail up to the river bridge which is spectacular. The "creek" is running high and the falls are quite impressive. We were told that there are large downed trees about 2.5 miles in but the lower trail is now clear and worth the trip to see the flowers and the water. I found an orchid and skunk cabbage and trillium were in full bloom, great day to have fun and get some work done.

Thanks for working on that trail! Surprised you had time to take pictures, I finally just quit bringing my camera on work parties. Funny you should mention that parking lot, I put the first scratch on my new car in that spot last summer, boy was I p***ed!!

The first scratch is always the worst. After that, it's just a used car...
